STPP – Network Events

The Sustainable Tourism Partnership Programme will be presenting a number of workshops during 5 and 6 March 2014 at the Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River, Mpumalanga.

Workshop 1: Introduction the Sustainable Tourism, the Value of a Tourist and Practical tools for my business (3 hours). The STPPs approach is both simplistic and practical. This is an interactive workshop and participants are encouraged to bring their views and suggestions for bringing about sustainable change and collaboration. Participants will receive a copy of the Sustainable & Responsible Tourism Handbook amongst others. The key outcome is an of action plan which participants can use to move forward as individual business owners and as part of a community wanting to become more sustainable.
Participants: All tourism stakeholders, including Staff and Management from Local Businesses, Tourism Businesses, Accommodation Establishments as well as Local Government, Tourists, Youth Groups and residents.
Cost: R300 pp / minimum 10 people for the event to proceed.

Workshop 2: Staff Green Training: The how’s, what’s and why’s of green detergents, recycling, composting, saving electricity, saving water and more (3 hours). Participants will receive an easy to use reference guide.
Participants: All staff and management from tourism businesses and other business should attend, as well as private individuals.
Costs: R250 pp, minimum 10 people for the event to proceed;

Workshop 3: Brown Tourism Signage (1 ½ hour) and how to participate to bring about positive change. will receive a copy of the STPPs Brown Signs Survey Report and be given the opportunity to highlight ideas for further surveys
Participants: Tourism businesses and Local Government (all departments).
R200 pp minimum 10 people attending for the event to proceed.

 Participants wishing to attend more than one event will receive a 10 % discount on the total price.

We will also have Wonder Bags and Solar Jars available for purchase and the Spindel may be ordered.

The STPP strives to bring our workshops and offerings free of charge or at a reduced rate to all. Should any organisation have the capacity to assist us with sponsorships for the events, we may be able to reduce the costs provided above. As a guideline, I also attach our Partnership Guide.
