SETE 2014 Builds On Hosted Buyers Success Stories

The highly-anticipated 2014 edition of the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) exhibition and conference is fast approaching. Currently in its fourth year of existence, this exciting event is set to attract major local and international role players in the sports, events, culture and tourism sectors.

SETE will offer a comprehensive International Hosted Buyers programme giving international buyers the opportunity to visit the exhibition and interact with exhibitors through pre-scheduled meetings, attend conference sessions and networking events. The key objective of the programme is to connect international buyers with local service providers and product owners.

A success story to be proud of is that of The International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) in the United States, who was hosted as a buyer in 2012 and who will be returning in 2014.

In 2012, the IPPT was able to make the right contacts and connections through SETE, and has resulted in the IIPT World Symposium on Sustainable and Peaceful Communities and Nations to be held in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province in February 2015. “I am looking forward to returning to the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange 2014 as I found my last visit to the Exchange a most productive and enjoyable experience. SETE is efficiently organized and I found all staff to be helpful, courteous and hospitable. SETE provides an excellent platform to meet and network with other professionals in Sports, Tourism and Events with similar and complementary interests in an atmosphere that enhances win-win outcomes. The design of SETE serves to optimizes one’s time in developing new relationships and opportunities.” said President of IPPT, Louis D’Amore.

The category of organisations / companies that SETE would consider for the 2014 Hosted Buyers Programme are; International Sports Federations, National Sports Federations, Sports Clubs, Event organisers/ Rights holders to International events and festivals, Sports tour operators and organisers of mega sporting events. In addition, SETE is also looking for Hosted Buyers who are interested in:
• Bringing sporting events and conferences, as well as cultural and life style events into South Africa.
• Exploring South Africa as a training destination for sports training to Northern Hemisphere athletes.
• Planning tours for Sporting/Events spectators, leisure sports enthusiasts and adventure tourists
• Exchanging of events (sports or other) between South Africa and participating countries.

The first wave of Hosted Buyers have been confirmed and include representation from over 16 countries around the globe including; Bulgaria, India, China, France, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. The Hosted Buyers are predominantly final decision makers in their industry followed by researchers, planners and organisers.

SETE implores you not to miss out on this unique opportunity to participate in this business to business platform and meet with major players in the industry.
