The only updated data available from last month was from the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA). The ACSA data shows the changing travel patterns of international tourists with less international travellers flying to OR Tambo as direct flights to Cape Town and King Shaka increase. Regional flights from Botswana directly to King Shaka are also in operation.
This trend is not only important for tour operators to adjust the tour packages offered but also for car rental companies and even accommodation providers who have transit visitors as a large part of their market.
