Travel Advice: SA Home Affairs Strike

International tourists departing from South Africa on Monday, 19 June 2017 are advised to consider an earlier than usual airport arrival time for overseas flights and an early arrival time when leaving SA ports.

Flight Centre Travel Group has advised that the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) workers have giving notice of their intention to strike on Monday, 19 June 2017. This will most likely affect all services the DHA offers. It is anticipated that Ports of Entry (airports, borders & seaports) will also be affected.

Passengers are advised to arrive at least 4 hours prior to their international flights as they may experience longer than usual queues and delays at immigration.

Note that this advice only applies to international flights as there is no need to pass through immigration for local flights.
