Living the MasterChef SA experience with Tsogo Sun

On Wed, 14 August, The Southern Sun Waterfront hotel hosted a Mystery Box Dinner with Tsogo Sun celebrity chef and MasterChef SA judge, Benny Masekwameng. One of the finalists in MasterChef season 2, Capetonian Kamini Pather, also attended. Guests enjoyed a four-course meal prepared by the hotel’s Executive Chef, Martin Chetty, with Nederburg wine pairings by Tsogo Sun Regional Sommelier, Georgio Meletiou.

Tsogo Sun’s exciting Mystery Box promotion is giving diners the opportunity to experience the flavours, textures, ingredients and flair seen on TV screens each week. A mystery box is on display at the entrances to selected Tsogo Sun hotel restaurants every Monday to Friday until 11 September. The mystery box ingredients change on a weekly basis.

Each mystery box contains eight ingredients, some seasonal and some unusual – challenging the creativity, skill and versatility of Tsogo Sun’s chefs, who’ll use the contents of the box to create a special main course dish to be paired with a Nederburg wine. When diners select the mystery box, they’ll also get to be a judge for the evening, and will be given a fun scorecard to judge the dish. “It’s your chance to become a MasterChef judge for the evening and to put our talented chefs to the test,” says Graham Wood, Managing Director of Tsogo Sun – hotels.
One lucky diner will win five nights of luxury at the Beverly Hills hotel in Umhlanga, with dinner, bed and breakfast for two, as well as a dinner prepared by Benny Masekwameng.
The Mystery Box promotion is running in three Tsogo Sun hotels in Cape Town – Southern Sun Waterfront, Southern Sun The Cullinan and The Southern Sun Cape Sun. For more info go to www.tsogosun.com, join facebook.com/tsogosun or follow Tsogo Sun @tsogosun #MCSA
