Etihad Airways also collects awards for Best Airline in the Middle East and Best Airport Staff/Gate Agents
Etihad Airways was recognized as “2014 Airline of the Year” by the readers of U.S.-based Global Traveler magazine. The prestigious award was presented at Global Traveler’s “11th Annual GT Tested Reader Survey Awards” on December 15, at The Peninsula in Beverly Hills, CA. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier also took home awards for “Best Airline in the Middle East” and “Best Airport Staff/Gate Agents”.
“It is truly an honor for Etihad Airways to be selected by the readers of Global Traveler magazine as this year’s Airline of the Year,” said James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. “2014 has been a milestone year for Etihad Airways in the U.S. with the addition of three new gateways, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles and San Francisco – not to mention globally with the unveiling of innovative new products for our guests including The Residence by Etihad Airways, the first and only three-room suite in the sky. At Etihad Airways, our shared goal is to deliver the very best hospitality experience in the world for our guests and we thank the readers of Global Traveler magazine for recognizing Etihad Airways’ employees with these three important industry awards.”
Francis X. Gallagher, Publisher and CEO, Global Traveler said,” Congratulations to Etihad! With three wins in our 2014 GT Tested Reader Survey awards, it’s clear the airline is paving the way for the rest of the industry in terms of innovation, service, product and overall excellence. Etihad usurped a 10-time Best Airline in the World winner to claim its place as the best of the best. We look forward to many more shared successes in the years to come.”
