Travel Buyers to descend on Africa

Africa Travel Week 2015 (www.africatravelweek.com: 13 – 15 April 2015) will host many of the world’s most sought after international travel agents and buyers, an average of over 80% of whom will be new faces at the three dedicated travel industry shows that comprise Africa Travel Week 2015. Each are leading agents within their sectors from Africa’s leading source markets including the UK, Northern Europe, US and Latin America.

Africa Travel Week will deliver a tailored Hosted Buyer Programme across all three of its events and for the exclusive benefit of the event participants. The events – WTM Africa, IBTM Africa and ILTM Africa – encompass Africa’s inbound and outbound markets for general leisure tourism, luxury travel and the MICE/business travel sector and take place in one location – the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Africa Travel Week is organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions and Thebe Reed Exhibitions.

Dedicated to boosting African Tourism, Africa Travel Week will host dedicated travel industry buyers and specialists: up to 300 at WTM (World Travel Market) Africa, up to 80 at ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) Africa and up to 60 at IBTM (Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings) Africa.

Following the proven global RTE Hosted Buyer formula, these pre-qualified buyers will meet with their suppliers of choice throughout Africa Travel Week 2014 in over 12,000 pre-scheduled, targeted business meetings. (IBTM – 2160, ILTM – 4000, WTM – 6000+ ). Both buyers and exhibitors will also have access to social networking opportunities and topical education programmes.

Hosted Buyer Programmes ensure the attendance of top-level decision makers. In return for RTE providing travel and 4* or 5* accommodation, as well as a full programme of networking, Hosted Buyers commit to attend a number of pre-scheduled appointments with suppliers of their choice at the events. With appointments set in their diaries before they attend each event, exhibitors are guaranteed to receive maximum return on investment.

With dedicated and experienced teams around the world engaged in inviting, qualifying and benchmarking to ensure quality and relevant buyers are admitted onto the programmes, once registration goes live, Africa Travel Week will offer the largest ever programme of business opportunities for the industry in Africa.

Craig Moyes, Portfolio Director, Africa Travel Week commented:
“Africa Travel Week offers extraordinary opportunities to meet serious specialist buyers, many of whom have never attended a previous Reed Travel or Thebe Reed event. Our events are successful because they are driven by quality – we only host decision makers and those with final purchasing authority from the markets that are most important to the region.”

In 2014 alone, the market leading ILTM, IBTM and WTM portfolios of international events across 13 countries will have hosted almost 10,000 (ILTM -3000, IBTM – 6000, WTM – less than 1000) pre-qualified, global travel industry Hosted Buyers.

New buyers were enthusiastic to be attending each Africa Travel Week 2015 event:

Mark Stiles, Chief Vacation Officer, Blaycation, Canada comments:
“As a Hosted Buyer, IBTM Africa will be key to meet the local experts who can curtail travel and incentive solutions for our business. I am hoping to meet a few likeminded travel partners that can act as my “go to” suppliers in Africa.”

Marissa Lassman of the UK’s Nota Bene Travel says:
“I am looking forward to discovering for myself why ILTM Africa is THE show to visit to find out about all of the exciting new developments in luxury travel in Africa, and to ensure we are fully up-to-speed on all the finest experiences for our affluent clients.”

Pia Severin Valentine, Sales & Product Manager, Trekking Bureauet, Denmark adds:
“My main objective in attending WTM Africa is that it will give me a superb opportunity to meet with tour operators as well as hotel and lodge owners who I would not otherwise know of, or be able to meet with, outside of the unique WTM forum.”

Dates for Africa Travel Week 2015 events are:
ILTM Africa: April 13 – 15
IBTM Africa: April 13 – 15
WTM Africa: April 15 – 17
