On Saturday 2 September 2017, Jade & Velvet hosted their annual charity event at De La Paix, to raise funds for the FASt Forward Fund. This year’s theme was “A little goes a long way” and attendees enjoyed a fun-filled brunch whilst being entertained by popular blues artist Gerald Clark and guest keynote speaker Elsabe Aldrich.
The FASt Forward Fund is a charity initiative that provides support for children suffering from Foetal Alcohol Syndrome by focusing on providing equestrian therapy for youngsters suffering from the illness. Ankerdata, who supported the event for the third consecutive year, has now involved their clients, who sponsored prizes for the day.
The benefit of horse-riding has been proven to be an excellent form of therapy for individuals with special needs, improving balance, posture, muscle tone and joint flexibility, as well as developing attention span, reasoning, memory and other cognitive functions. By working with programmes like Equitots, the FASt Forward Fund gives FAS-sufferers access to this form of therapy.
Ian Lumsden, director of sales and marketing at Ankerdata, who presented at the event, said that Ankerdata was proud to be involved with the FASt forward fund again and had gone all out to get their clients involved to raise some great prizes. A little does indeed go a long way.
