The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show is South Africa’s premier wine competition that recognises the top local wines and winemakers, and honours excellence in the wine industry.
This is exactly what happened when Boschendal Wines received Gold for their Boschendal Jean le Long Prestige Cuvée Blanc de Blanc 2007 on Tuesday, 30 May. The judging panel had to sift through more than 1 000 entries and was once again chaired by wine authority, Michael Fridjhon.
The Boschendal Jean Le Long Prestige Cuvée Blanc de Blanc 2007 is a pale gold with a flourish of tiny bubbles. On the nose it delivers enticing lemon cream, pink grapefruit and discreet almond biscotti aromas, while the intricate palate is detailed with a tight core of lemon and oranges. Rich roast nuts and a flattering minerality finish with extraordinary length, riveting freshness and complexity. The exquisite elegance you will expect from a Gold recipient at The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
