Twenty five properties in the Elgin, Vyeboom and Bot River districts will open their gardens to the public. One of the properties worth visiting is the Wildekrans Country House – a historic homestead built in 1811.
Set in a rambling country garden silhouetted by a rugged mountain backdrop, the house is a mixture of the ancient, the quirky and the laidback, all rolled into one.
Entry is free although donations are accepted on behalf of the Bot River Education Trust.
