Cape Town, 15 April 2019 – The industries best were honoured at the CMO Global Africa Awards held in Sandton, Johannesburg on Thursday 4 April 2019. Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport’s General Manager Lindy Meiring was presented with a prestigious ‘South Africa’s Best General Managers (Hospitality) citation by The Academic Council and Awards Committee.
The CMO Global Africa Awards are an independent initiative aimed at giving recognition to those individuals who have achieved extraordinary success in their spheres and are endorsed by The World Federation of Hospitality, World Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility Day and the World Federation of Marketing.
Nominees are judged on customer satisfaction ratings, people management skills, marketing initiatives, corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices in South Africa. The Awards set out to acknowledge South Africa’s best brands, employers, industry leaders in various categories and emphasise the importance of their contribution.
Accepting the award, Meiring thanked CMO Global and expressed her honour to accept the award amongst so many of her peers. Meiring said, “Although it is wonderful to be recognised, I am truly grateful for the fantastic team I have at Verde Hotels and for the support and encouragement I receive. We are a team who believe strongly in the principles on which we were judged and I am very excited for the group to be reinforcing these ideologies as we grow. ”
Verde Hotels have recently opened a 5-star resort in Zanzibar and plans are to continue the growth of more sustainable hotels across Africa.
