The Zambezi Queen by Mantis has won the title of The World’s Leading Boutique Cruise. The 26th annual World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony was held last night, 28th November 2019, at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman. The World Travel Awards is globally recognised as a prestigious honours programme in global travel and tourism and each win is the ultimate industry accolade.
Kate Powell, General Manager: Marketing, Sales and Reservations is delighted with the win: “For the Zambezi Queen to have won the World’s Leading Boutique Cruise for the seventh time is a true testament to the commitment our team has to ensure we offer our guests an African river safari experience unlike any other.”
The Zambezi Queen Collection comprises of one luxurious floating boutique hotel (The Zambezi Queen) and three intimate houseboats which are called the Chobe Princesses. They all traverse along the Chobe River between Namibia and Botswana. The Zambezi Queen Collection took home its second consecutive award for Africa’s Leading River Cruise company at the Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony which was held in Mauritius on the 1st of June 2019. It was at these same awards where the management company of the Zambezi Queen, Mantis Collection, also won the award for Africa’s Leading Conservation Company and Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel Brand.
The boat is based in Namibia and sets off from the Botswana side of the Chobe River, sailing on scheduled departures every Monday (2 nights), Wednesday (2 nights) and Friday (3 nights).
ABOUT THE ZAMBEZI QUEEN COLLECTION: The Zambezi Queen originally traversed the great Zambezi River as a cargo barge; hence its name. It was moved to the Chobe River through the Kasai Channel and transformed into a luxurious floating boutique hotel. It is the mothership of a beautiful collection that includes the Chobe Princess houseboats and the Ichingo Chobe River Lodge based in Namibia. The Zambezi Queen Collection is a proud member of the Mantis Collection.
