National Braai Tour Ends in Port Elizabeth

The 2017 National Braai Tour made their final heritage stop at the Donkin Reserve in Port Elizabeth, after seven days of excellent sight-seeing and road-tripping through South Africa.

After spending the penultimate night of the Tour at the SANParks Storms River Mouth Rest Camp, the Tour made its way to the Donkin Reserve in Port Elizabeth, the sight of the largest South African flag in the world.

The rainy weather couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the happy tourists, as they prepared for the last night of the Tour at the Willows Caravan Park.

“The week has been highly enjoyable,” says Jan Braai, the man behind the National Braai Day initiative and the National Braai Tour. “Everyone has seen sights they’ve never seen before, and learned more about their great country; the aim of the tour is to prepare for National Braai Day and to have fun. I think we’ve achieved that and more. Ending the Tour at the Donkin Reserve and under the giant South Africa flag is only fitting after we’ve spent all week proudly waving our South African flags.”
