Cape Town Calls For Nowhere Better Campaign Support

The Nowhere Better Campaign was launched in October 2018, as a collaboration between the tourism industry and government. This was in reaction to the barrage of negative messaging received throughout 2018, which had a negative impact on Cape Town’s destination brand  especially in key source markets, namely the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and South Africa.

Although Cape Town is on the road to recovery, the drought shock on tourism arrival numbers, accommodation occupancy and experience bookings are still a sad reality for travel industry partners.

Free marketing material

The Nowhere Better campaign provides a completely free Asset Library with marketing collateral (posters, digital banners, videos or other content) that have been specifically designed with space for your business to insert a company logo.

“The investment in industry is essential to increase awareness that Cape Town is, quite simply, the best place in the world to visit and to experience. Our long-term goal is to ensure industry sustainability and to continue the opportunities that present themselves for entrepreneurship and job creation, for the benefit of all the city’s communities,” says Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management.

A coordinated collaboration

Coordinated by Wesgro, the funding raised for the Nowhere Better Campaign was sourced from public and private sector partners across the Cape. The City of Cape Town and Cape Town Tourism have agreed to contribute a further R4 million towards this collaborative intervention. Cape Town Tourism will, in addition, feature the campaign on bus stop shelters and Link kiosks in and around New York as part of the City Partnership campaign with NYC & Company.

“The impact of this campaign is directly proportional to the entire tourism sector coming on board and doing our bit, and we need your support to amplify the campaign reach through your marketing channels. The opportunity to use this content for free is marketing gold – why not increase the impact your website is having on your business?” says Enver Duminy, CEO, Cape Town Tourism.

The campaign wraps up in October 2019.

The content can be used across a wide variety of platforms. For additional help or for artwork in different formats, email: [email protected].
