Sports & Events Tourism Exchange 2013

The Sports & Events Tourism Exchange (SETE), taking place at the Durban International Convention Centre from 22 – 24 October 2013, provides a dynamic business to business platform bringing together businesses from the sports and tourism industries who will showcase their product offerings to the attending International Hosted Buyers and SA corporates specializing in Sports and Tourism, who would look at utilizing their products for any Sports or Tourism gathering.

Now in its third year, SETE is aimed at positioning South Africa as a Sports Tourism destination. The conference and exhibition brings together businesses from the Sports and Tourism industries and encourages partnerships between the two sectors over this three-day period.

SETE is an event not to be missed! Make it your business to get involved in attracting major events to our shores. Sport tourism is one of the fastest growing areas of the global travel and tourism industry. Quite obvious are the links between the Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Networks – highlighting the interplay between these markets and the economies of the driving countries.

SETE encourages collaboration between the sports & tourism industries and corporates from both sectors will have the opportunity to interact and network with each other and with government institutions from both sectors. Of benefit to corporates will be the presence of international buyers who have an interest in partnering with local industry players to host their event in SA.,” comments Sugen Pillay, Business Development Director for Thebe Exhibitions and Projects.

By attending SETE, corporates will be able to connect with the participating exhibitors representing the following sectors including but not limited to:
• Hotels
• Tour and transfer companies
• Tourism Authorities
• Sport Federations

The Sports and Events Tourism Exchange is hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism, partnered by CATHSSETA, SASCOC, Tourism KZN and Durban Tourism, Tsogo Sun and supported by Durban KZN Convention Bureau and the exclusive broadcasting partner SABC.
