Askari Game Lodge Introduces Zemvelo Adventures

Southern Africa captivates everyone who is lucky enough to experience its power and magic. Now, Askari Lodge & Spa, located in the Plumari Africa Game Reserve, have partnered with Zemvelo Adventures to offer guests close encounters with the Big Five.

Askari Lodge & Spa, less than an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, is the perfect destination to experience the diverse wildlife South Africa has on offer. The Plumari Africa Game Reserve on which the lodge is situated comprises a pristine malaria-free wilderness area of over 3000 hectares, blessed with a great biodiversity of wildlife, giving guests the opportunity to have a close encounter with the Big Five. In addition, the reserve is also a birdwatchers delight.

Zemvelo Adventures offers a range of exciting activities at Plumari Private Game Reserve on the outskirts of Magliesburg, in Gauteng, South Africa. Activities include Big 5 game drives, Elephant touch and feed interaction, Hiking trails and 4×4 trails to name but a few. “We take our guests in an open Land Rover,” says Fanus Howell, General Manager Of Zemvelo Adventures. “This adds to the excitement as the experience becomes multi-dimensional. Aside from seeing the animals, you also hear and smell them.”

“We drive through a wide variety of habitats,” Fanus continues. “This allows visitors to view a selection of wildlife. Our game viewing drives are available for morning and afternoon trips, as this is when the animals are most active. You’ll be accompanied by a skilled ranger and guests can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species on game drives as this is when the animals are most active. “We have all seen the “Savage Survival” and “Survivor” programmes on television while relaxing with hot chocolate on a comfortable couch. If you find yourself away from the comforts of your home, and you are stuck in a remote area with nothing but African Bushveld surrounding you, let us teach you how to survive in the bush” says Fanus
