Adventure seekers are flocking to Storms River Village in the heart of the Tsitsikamma National Park forest for their adrenalin rush and a unique experience that families of all ages, regardless of ability, can enjoy.
“We’ve seen a remarkable increase in bookings for our canopy tours, as well as for other activities that we offer,” says Pam Zondani, marketing manager at Stormsriver Adventures.
Self-catering accommodation is provided at Forest Nest, which is set in the heart of Storms River Village and is ideal for a family of four or two couples who want a special getaway treat.
It comes as no surprise that Stormsriver Adventures is enjoying phenomenal success. As attested to by being Fair Trade Tourism certified, the company is the recipient of multiple awards for its support of local community projects, which include a school feeding scheme, animal welfare program, and HIV Aids awareness.
Founded in 1998, Stormsriver Adventures is one of the largest new job creators in the Eco-Adventure industry in South Africa. Only local guides are employed with an emphasis on skills development.
Professional video and photos are included in the Canopy Tour experience, and to unwind from the adrenalin rush, visitors can relax at the Trees Restaurant, which is a job creation initiative that has capacitated ten local women from communities on the Garden Route. Or visit the Tsitsikamma Crafters who supply a range of locally produced crafts unique to the area.
