Call For Rhino Artist Submissions

The Rhinos Are Coming!!! will host a 3-month public outdoor art exhibition with a difference. They aim to protect and conserve our rhino population through art.

Artists’ canvasses will be blank life-sized fibre glass rhino sculptures that will be transformed into valuable, imaginative works of art by both prominent and up and coming artists based in and around greater Cape Town. The rhino works of art will be auctioned at the end of the exhibition and the funds raised will go to StopRhinoPoaching.com an award winning anti-poaching NGO fighting to secure a safer future for our rhinos.

Janice Ashby, founder and programme director of The Rhinos are Coming!!!, said, “We encourage artists to use their imagination to come up with unique, fun, inspired designs for our rhinos, which will stampede through the Mother City in the Summer of 2017 and 2018.

“Our first eight extraordinary rhinos, sponsored by leading companies and painted by local artists, have become our Rhino Ambassadors and have already made their way all around the Mother City and The Winelands. Our rhinos were also the stars at the prestigious WAA Conference held at the Cape Town Stadium during April 2017. By the end of 2017, we aim to have a crash of 100 rhinos parading around our City!”

Artists are invited to apply to be a part of this truly spectacular exhibition and to offer their time and talent to this worthy cause. They will be rewarded with a unique vehicle created by them and around which they can devise exciting publicity, public relations and social media campaigns to spread awareness of their work.

“We have put together an informative invitation and information pack, which can be downloaded from our web site,” concludes Ashby. To participate, click this link: ARTISTS GUIDELINES AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS.
