Trishna

This restaurant, in the middle of Marylebone Village, was awarded a Michelin star in 2012 and serves a ‘Taste of Trishna’ set menu. If you choose to have wine, each course is perfectly paired with a suitable 100ml glass. Dishes include Hariyali Bream and South Indian Coast Lamb Curry. Chutney Mary

Chutney Mary is set on the trendy King’s Road and has become world famous for its contemporary, sophisticated take on regional Indian cuisine. Their dishes are innovatively created as the chefs put modern spins on traditional classics. They are known for their fabulous Sunday Buffet Lunch which changes every week, priced at only £26 for adults and £13 for children under 10. Some dishes that have been part of the Sunday Lunch include: Basil Fish Tikka, Tandoori Sarson Broccoli, Shalgam Gosht – chopped lamb with turnips, and Methi Murgh – chicken cubes with fresh fenugreek in a thick gravy. Average a-la-carte prices are £45-£50 per person for a 3-course meal; this price includes wine and service.

Moti Mahal

This relaxed restaurant in the heart of the West End invites the diner to take a culinary adventure along India’s Grand Trunk Road. Chef Anirudh Arora creates a Tiffin Set Menu every weekday lunchtime between 12:30 and 3pm. The menu offers one of five main dishes including Prawn Mappas and Kadai Palak Murgh, served with a crisp fried seasonal vegetable roll, chef’s vegetable of the day, lentil stew and naan bread, to create a complete Tiffin Lunch. The menu costs a reasonable £15.

The Cinnamon Club

Situated in Westminster, this restaurant offers customers a modern Indian dining experience. The Cinnamon Club has a pre/post theatre 2 and 3-course set menu, served Monday to Saturday from 12pm. Chef Vivek Singh encourages ‘culinary exploration’, showcasing his signature dishes. Menus start at £22 for 2 courses, £24 for 3.

The India Restaurant

“The India” is a cosy, intimate restaurant set underground on London’s Cannon Street. Spices are hand-picked, dried and ground by their chef. Catering well for vegetarians, they offer traditional dishes such as Karahi Paneer with a side dish of Sag Aloo. Prices start at just £16.95.
