aha Makalali Completes Private Tented Camp

aha Makalali Private Tented Camp, situated within the Makalali Private Game Reserve and just 30 minutes’ drive from the aha Makalali Private Game Lodge, has been completed.

Neil Bald, CEO of aha Hotels & Lodges says “This exclusive camp is extremely comfortable and offers the necessary camp amenities yet still reflecting Makalali’s authentic flair and ambiance. It will provide alternative accommodation to guests while the current renovations to the existing aha Makalali Private Game Lodge continue as well as attracting new guests looking for a tented option in this fabulous reserve.”

It comprises of 15 luxury tented suites each featuring a super-king size bed, En-suite bathroom with lounge area and outside deck, providing a beautiful outlook of the surrounding bushveld and dam. The camp is situated in the heart of the bushveld set along Jackalberry trees, offering a sense personal connection with the natural surrounds. Guests will be welcomed in true Makalali style at the “welcome area” with a welcome drink before embarking off on a short safari drive, on route to the aha Makalali Private Tented Camp. The camp features a comfortable tented lounge and dining room with bar, overlooking a dam with resident hippo and a popular watering hole for various game.

Makalali’s chefs will provide guests with a variety of dining experiences; from dinner in the bush or a legendary ‘boma dinner’ under the stars. The cuisine consists of a selection of local African food which signifies the heritage of the Makalali. This is renowned “Big Five” territory with species such as wild dogs, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and kudu roaming these plains. Guests will enjoy two scheduled game drives (morning and afternoon) in open vehicles providing guests an opportunity to observe these wild animals in their natural habitat.
